Amtrak Official Outlines Roots of Acela Problems
WASHINGTON, May 11 - The Acela Express trains were far closer to a serious accident than Amtrak officials believed, with many more cracks in their brake spokes, when all 20 of the trains were abruptly taken out of service on April 15, an Amtrak official testified on Wednesday before a House subcommittee.
