If you are collecting AGR points for the entire thing here is the quote from AGR:Just wanted clarification from anyone who knows: When getting AGR points from a United flight with EWR connection, it's one point for every mile, air and rail, correct?
Apparently United's changeover to revenue based accrual has not affected the agreement with Amtrak, similar to how it has not affected their agreements with their many other air partners too. When you fly United, take Amtrak to connect to or from Newark Liberty International Airport and either Philadelphia, Wilmington, Stamford or New Haven and earn Amtrak Guest Rewards points on the whole trip, including the flight.
Book your Amtrak segment when you book your flight with United at 1-800-UNITED-1 and provide your Amtrak Guest Rewards member number to earn Amtrak Guest Rewards points for your flight. You will earn 1 point per mile traveled (a minimum of 500 points) plus a 25% point bonus for travel in United Business class and 50% bonus for travel in United First class, in addition to the points you earn for your Amtrak travel.
Old thread, but I put my AGR number onto a United reservation that didn't have an Amtrak segment, and the mileage-based points posted anyway.Apparently United's changeover to revenue based accrual has not affected the agreement with Amtrak, similar to how it has not affected their agreements with their many other air partners too.
OTOH, if you wish to earn the whole thing as United MP points see: https://www.united.com/CMS/en-US/Marketing/CustComm/Promotions/Pages/Amtrak.aspx
