Can you buy a coach ticket with AGR points and also use companion and/or upgrade coupons.

No, the coupons (and upgrades) are based on a PAID reservation. In the case of an upgrade, it is based on how much you paid - and since your out of pocket cost was $-0-, your upgrade cost is the full amount. (Meaning you wasted those points.)
