Apparently a BMW, possibly traveling at high speed, fell off the highway onto the Empire Connection track near the George Washington Bridge, burst into flames and shut down the tracks for a while in the middle of the night through early morning. All three in the car were killed.

Amtrak Empire Service trains were delayed for a while, but the tracks have reopened and things are moving again.

"possibly" traveling at high speed? no, not really. Of course he was. Seeing no scuff marks on the slopes makes it look like he was airborne until the landing. Ejected = no seat belt fastened, although that would probably have made no difference. Was the third person in the car on just happened to be in the way?
