An Amtrak passenger train bound for Houston was involved in an accident near Columbus Friday morning.

The Sunset Limited train collided with a gravel truck in Colorado County, according to the sheriff's department there.
A train engineer and the driver of the truck were taken to Columbus Community Hospital.
Eight passengers on the train were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The train did not derail, but it remained in Columbus more than two hours after the 9:50 a.m. accident.
