Thanks for the feedback everyone! Regarding the dining car photo...that is indeed a photo from 2005. It was the best photo I could find that we had rights to (mine are iPhone pics that lack much context). While the folks here at AU tend to notice those things, our larger audience likely won't.

Charles O'Rear's photos (the first set) were taken as part of the EPA's DOCUMERICA project in the 1970s. The National Archives has a full set of those photos here; it's a pretty amazing documentation of Amtrak's early years. The Amtrak photos start around page three. Rainbow consists!

In the sleepers, the placards that say "120 VOLTS - RAZOR ONLY" are definitely outdated. Lots of people carry stuff you can plug into that outlet nowadays -- like iPhones (pictured).

How long does it normally take to turnaround a train like the CL? If everything goes as scheduled there's only 2:55 to turn 30 into 29, which is not nearly enough time, right?

Is this equipment turning for 50 (7)? Or is it turning back on 30? 50 (7) shows thru to NYP at the moment.

48 (4) is showing an estimated departure of 4 a.m. at the moment. Hopefully this mess will reset when that trainset (which hasn't even arrived in CHI as of 8:06 p.m. CST) lays over in Sunnyside tomorrow night.

And FWIW, the good folks on TO say that 448 (4) and 449 (4) are being bustituted. So they must be keeping that equipment in ALB to cut their losses here?
