First Amtrak LD trip in 18yrs ! Very excited. I'll be in a roomette (#7) from NYP to Kiss. Train doesn't depart till 3:15pm so i'm currently still at home...but i'll try to update everyone as the day goes on.

Agreed ! At the end of the day...with me it always comes down to service. If someone is non existent, rude, nasty etc... they get nothing

You really should be fine. Unlike plan travel where your pretty much confined to your seat through the duration of your flight...on the train you can get up and walk around as you please..and as noted in the pic posted above you'll have plenty of legroom in coach so you won't feel so smothered...

Yes...unfortunately this is what usually happens. And i'll admit im guilty of this as well. However, over the past few years i've made a conscious effort to make the same effort to acknowledge those that go above and beyond as well as those who fall well short.

Same here. Although I could see how the toilet in room could be awkward if say your traveling with say your sister...I think had they also added communal bathrooms in the car it wouldn't be as bad. That way if it is 2 people together who arent comfortable using the toilet theres another option...

Im officially booked for train 97 out of NYP ! Just a question I was given room #8... from just surfing around here..I heard the odd number rooms are better. Is that true? And if so can I change my room if I wanted?

Hey thanks for the responses everyone ! I believe i'll be on the meteor I think thats the 3:15pm train. But no I won't be in the bedroom this time, I don't find it necessary and I certainly don't have enough points lol. Since i'm by myself i'll be in a roomette ! I think thats perfect for 1...
