How safe is the station and surrounding area around the Emeryville station? I will be taking the CS from LAX and arriving there around 10pm. I am stayinf at the Hilton Garden Inn and would like to walk that short distance (it looks doable on google maps). I know that motel offers a free shuttle...

Just rather curious on the latest information on the detour around Omaha. I am not sure if they still have the detour in place or not. What is the overall progress in this situation? Keeping my fingers crossed that all will be good to go when my CZ trips comes up in 45 days. :unsure:

This is our first time on the Zephyr. We have been on the Empire Builder, Capital Limited, Lake Shore Limited and the Silver Service/Palmetto. Each trip was unique in its own way. Looking forward to the Zephyr.
