Thanks - this is helpful. I've been in the Quiet car a few times, during the day, where the conductor dimmed the lights. Then some people asked them to be brighter. He would adjust them within in minutes.
IS the lighting in the Acela the same as NER?

There are pros to the NER over Acela for certainf trips, which have been discussed in other forums so I won't go into them here.
