    #5 Group Meal Arrangements

I am beginning to make arrangements for a family reunion group of 40 adults and children on #5 from Denver to Glenwood Springs in August 2018. It's too early to make reservations but I want to hear from the forum about a meal arrangement for the entire group on this short trip. Would it be...

Will CZ have 2 or 3 sleepers in Jan 2015?

Will car # 632 on Jan 19 be a sleeper or the dorm?

    Old Zone Map

I consider the 20,000 point two-zone roomette the best AGR deal. On a trip from EMY to BOS, for example, I will pay for a roomette EMY to DEN and spend the points for Denver to Boston. I have always been able to get the same space for both the AGR and paid space on the train involved. I have...

Water Truck Stops on Tracks, Gets Hit By Empire Builder

To return to the subject: I was aboard the eastbound EB yesterday (2/8) when it met #7(7) between Wolf Point and Williston shortly after its collision with the water truck. At that time it was nearly three hours late and was powered by only one P42 leading the EB's ten car consist. I assume...

    Superliner Bedrooms

I have decided to slurge and spend the extra $300 for a bedroom rather than a roomette on #6 from EMY to CHI next month. I will be traveling alone and want to try the bedroom. Is there a difference among the bedrooms? Does the fact that A has no adjoining room compensate for its location at the...

    Cardinal, Zephyr, Starlight trip

Last year I was on #51 when it struck a pickup truck parked on the tracks killing the driver. We were bussed to Chicago from east of Cincinnati and arrived with little time to spare for the westbound departures. The train conductor assurred us that someone from Amtrak would meet the buses to...

    #6(29,30)

Status map and Amtrak.com indicate that #6 did not operate from EMY yesterday or today. What happened?

    zephyr car numbers

I just made a reservation on #6 this Wednesday from Denver to Chicago and was assigned a room in car 0633. Would this be the car that's added to the rear of the train in Denver? If so, would it be behind the other sleepers or the coaches?

    Ticket limits

I have a ticket I purchased for travel on 11 January, 2011. I cancelled the space and received a cancellation number. The ticket states "not valid after 11Jan12" Does this mean that travel must take place before 11 Jan or that it must be redeemed before 11 Jan?

Transfer miles from United to Continental

I have tried to use the link to transfer miles from UA to CO. Each time I try I receive an error message prompting me to check One Pass login. I know I'm using the correct Pin and Password. Anyone else having this problem?

Quik Trak Promotion - When do points post?

I'm still waiting for mine. In fact I had forgotten about this promo. It's listed among my promotions but shows no activity when I check it. I used QT the day after the promotion was offered.

    Routing for Two Zone Trip

I think the two-zone roomette for 20,000 points is the best reward deal and Toledo/Cincinnati-Chicago-Los Angeles-Seattle is the best of them if you are interested in a long train ride. I paid for a roomette from NYP to Cincinnati on the Cardinal last January and requested the same room from...

Great Deal on Amtrak Credit Card

I wish Amtrak and Chase would offer a debit card like Continental does with Chase. I don't qualify for the Amtrak/Chase credit card and am grateful for having learned about the Continental/Chase debit card and the transferability of its points to AGR. I'm looking forward to the 25,000 point...

Empire Builder which is better Verizon or Sprint

I have been cross-country several times with my Sprint broadband card. Except for the really isolated regions, I've been impressed with the seamless connection I've had with Sprint. Connection speeds vary from place to place, but it is usually fast enough for streaming radio and web-access...
