Where is Penn Station's "A Yard"?
Huh? West of course. Penn Station is to the east of those tracks. The East or West Side of them?
For those of us that might have come to this conversation late: what is the genesis of the question? Something about Amtrak and 2000ft???Thus, if Amtrak claims that they were looking at the tunnel box to run approximately 2,000 linear feet from 12th avenue to "A" Yard, than what part of "A" Yard were they referring to?
In the NYP area, the Avenues are numbered 12, 11, 10, etc. from the Hudson River on the West to the East River on the East. Therefore the "2000" feet would be West of NYP, running from 12th Avenue on the west to 10th Avenue on the east.So the "2,000 Linear Feet" runs from 12th avenue to the "A" Yard located just to the east of 10th avenue?
So, correct me if I'm wrong, but the "2,000 Feet" would run from 12th Avenue to the east side of 10th Avenue INSTEAD of to 9th Avenue or 8th Avenue on the West Side of Penn Station? In the NYP area, the Avenues are numbered 12, 11, 10, etc. from the Hudson River on the West to the East River on the East. Therefore the "2000" feet would be West of NYP, running from 12th Avenue on the west to 10th Avenue on the east.So the "2,000 Linear Feet" runs from 12th avenue to the "A" Yard located just to the east of 10th avenue?
