Did a small trip last week. CHI to DEN and back.
CHI to DEN was on-time.
DEN to CHICAGO was 2hr late
and i missed my dinner because they loaded the sleepers on last. I wonder if i can get money back for missing a dinner if I'm in the sleeper. Had to buy from the snack car. I guess I'll call amtrak to see if I can get a refund for missing the 2 meals and refund on the snack car.
It was about 4hr 23mins late in total into Chicago due to bad weather and speed restrictions.
Then i had about 1hr wait to catch metra train back home.
This was my first time traveling with my Dad but he seemed to want to go by train again because he like the food and meeting new people.
I though it would get more since i spent right around 3000 dollars. I though it was 2 points per $1 on Amtrak travel.
Till my next Amtrak train trip at the end of the month.
