Greetings. I see you are all doing well (yes I still lurk from time to time). I have been invited down to DC to partake in the festivities this upcoming weekend. I'll be bunking with my mom as she is in DC for a conference, so we figured why not keep it going until the MLK holiday.
I'm weighing my options and leaning towards trying to book a train from NYP on Sat morning very early. My only qualm is trying to leave DC on Mon as I have to be back to work. I hear that certain subway stations will be closed down so I'm afraid of getting stuck!! I will be staying at the Hilton dowtown near K.
I'd like to be back in NYP by 8pm on Mon 1/21, but will Union station be open via the metro? Should i plan for a 2 hr travel time by Metro to Union Station in order to give myself time to struggle to the train ?? Should I try late night Fri arrival/Sat train or will the metro be shutting by 12am?
Or should I opt for the bus ???
