i checked amtraks website and found out that the lsl #48 was 7 hours late :blink: , i quickly went down to see this train and it looked very normal to me (all schedualed cars). anyone know why this was so late??

Trains get late. It's a fact of life. Unless it gets to be over 12 hours late (on all routes except the Sunset) I don't think it constitutes news. Just my two cents.
 
On the old Bundesbahn, or at least during my time in the FRG during the mid-to-late '80s, the only time trains were late were on Friday nights.

The freight railroads could run Amtrak trains on time (or at least a lot closer to it) if they wanted to. For a variety of reasons -- not the least of which is money -- they don't.
