Well, can't say I'm surprised, just disappointed.
Amtrak hasn't updated their Service Alerts page for this yet, but Amtrak's Twitter account says the bustitution between New Haven and Springfield will continue Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM-1:30 PM through September 30th.
I found this because the bustitution was originally supposed to be over on July 31st, and I was skeptical it would be done on time. I looked up reservations, and the shuttles were still canceled through September 30th. I then tweeted them asking when it would be over.
For some reason, #494 and #475, which run outside of the claimed work period, show that they're available, but #476 and #497, which run at night, show as canceled.
I don't think it's because of freight schedules because they can just run later in the night, correct?
I totally understand that everything to do with rail projects takes longer than anyone expects, but I just wish Amtrak had given more notice on their Alerts page.
