Private Cars on Amtrak #5 (8/30)

Here's a report that there are three private cars on Amtrak #5(30) this evening, August 30. Also, there will be another private car on Amtrak #5(31) tomorrow. They are all apparently going to this Rocky Mountain Explorers trip.

I filmed this California Zephyr at Agency, Iowa running just several minutes late. The private cars are right behind the engines. They are Cimarron River, Prairie View, and Caritas.

For the third night in a row, there is private varnish on the end of the westbound California Zephyr. Amtrak #5(01) has three Iowa Pacific Pullman cars on the end. There's the full dome Scenic View and I think two sleepers.

In the first video there are 3 locomotives, in the last video there are only 2 locomotives. It's notable since both of those videos feature 3 private cars on the zephyr... Amtrak charges the private car operators if an extra loco is required.

In the first video, one of the three engines was dropped off with the private cars at Salt Lake City for the special trip mentioned in the first post (Looks like they should be in Montana right now).
