Currently www.amtrak.com has where you can view on time status but only a few days in the past. Is there an accurate site somewhere that you can look up the details beyond that?

Another good site is: http://www.trainweb.org/capt/AmtrakMapsForward.html

Once you are forwarded to the status map page, click on "Status File Archives" and you can view history for a much longer time frame. For example, you can get the delay and status history for the Lake Shore Limited going back to late 2007.
