i am from germany and had my first amtrak experience last year on the NEC from Boston to New York and the Texas Eagle from St. Louis to Chicago. I will travel across the country in April-May on the USA Rail pass with my wife and Look forward to See the country.

Welcome to the forum. I found the trains in Germany to be pretty good, but the passengers around me seemed quite unsatisfied, especially with timekeeping. Be ready for a whole different kind of schedule keeping here in the US. I hope your trip works out well and you have a good time while you're here.
