For a while, things were looking up for the Southwest Corridor light rail project.


Minneapolis had grudgingly accepted plans to send trains through a tunnel and over a bridge as they passed between Cedar Lake and Lake of the Isles.

But now planners are scrambling to salvage the project after discovering they drastically underestimated its price tag.

To help explain the complicated conundrum facing the most expensive transit project in Minnesota history, MPR News has turned once again to our friends at the Choo Choo Bob Show — a train-centric TV program for kids.
