It was the eastbound California Zephyr #6(27). This is why #6 is currenlty running nearly five hours late through Iowa right now.

Prayers for them all, such a tragedy.

If anyone is reading this who is ever tempted to take a chance with a train under any circumstance, just don't. We were on a Crescent years ago that was involved in a fatal accident resulting from going around a grade crossing gate. Please, please don't do it.

I highly doubt anybody with the intent of killing themselves would bring along a bike for good measure.
