Longest Amtrak Empire Builder

Caught this extra long Empire Builder today.
Due to track maintenance 6/26/2023, the Portland, OR passengers of the train had to leave by bus to Spokane. The entire Portland consist was sent with the Seattle train instead to meet those passengers. Very rare sight to see three Charger units (316,302,325) and the sight seeing lounge car on this route. Engine 316 also can be seen with the remnants of a bird strike.

Well, darn! I'd certainly rather leave early, and go to Seattle, than take a bus PDX to SPK. I had to do that once, and it really sucked. If I have to sit too long I get all twitchy. I need to get up and walk around or lie down or SOMETHING, anything to move a little.

Agreed with the great catch! It was interesting to see the EB without 301 on it; however, I'm assuming it's on the EB from the other direction.

And yes, very long trainset for the EB (which makes sense with the three chargers).

It would be nice to have the SS lounge during the summer when going through the Cascades. Not so much in the winter as it would be too dark before reaching even the western slope. This was a pure luck catch. Had to stay late for work and saw this extra long train by the Sounder commuter. Stayed a little later to be able to watch it leave.
