AAA Members Bring the Kids on Amtrak for Free
Special Offer Means Members' Children Travel Free until December 15 on most Long-Distance Trains
WASHINGTON - Beginning August 21 and ending December 15, 2006 AAA members can take the kids along for free on most Amtrak long distance trains under a new promotional offer announced today. Tickets go on sale August 1.
Additionally, AAA members can take advantage of the club's "Show Your Card and Save" program that gives members a 10 percent discount off the best available train fares for most Amtrak services. The Kids Ride Free offer permits two children (aged 2-15) to travel for free with each fare-paying adult on most trains.
The AAA Kids Ride Free offer is valid for travel on board many trains and routes that honor the AAA Show Your Card and Save promotion, including the Auto Train, Capitol Limited, Cardinal, Carolinian/Piedmont, Crescent, Lake Shore Limited, Silver Service, City of New Orleans, Heartland Flyer, Texas Eagle, California Zephyr, Coast Starlight, Empire Builder, Southwest Chief and Sunset Limited.
To take advantage of this offer, call 1-800-USA-RAIL or book a reservation on Amtrak.com, and enter the code H617. Some blackout dates apply. Reservations must be made at least three days in advance of travel. This offer is not available on Amtrak/VIA Rail connection service to and from Toronto, as well as Amtrak Thruway Bus Service, Series 7000-8000, Acela Express, Metroliners, Downeasters, Empire Corridor, Ethan Allen Express, Keystones, Vermonter and Regionals. However, Amtrak's 50% discount for children ages 2-15 traveling with a fare paying adult does apply to these trains, with the exception of weekday Acela Express and Metroliner service and certain Amtrak Thruway connections.
