crowded CZ in mid Dec?

I"ll be on the CZ Dec 12th and would like to know if there's a good chance if I'll have two seats to myself; I really can't afford the sleeper but might spring for it if the train might be crowded. It seems to me though, that much before the holidays, that it shouldn't be.

Might depend where your boarding. If boarding in Chi. it shouldn't be a problem. I've noticed after Omaha it fills up and seats together are tough to find. The CA might help you by asking singles to double up so you can get a double together. I've heard them make announcements when they know the train will be full for singles to double up so passengers traveling together can find seats. Usually it works out within a stop or two.

If you are asking about two seats for price of one, I don't think its likely you can get this for entire trip.
