I'll be taking a round trip from Chico, CA to New Orleans (3 nights in NOLA) by way of Sacramento and Chicago on June 19. The portion between Chico and Sacramento will be by bus since the Coast Starlight runs way too early.
I just checked the latest fares and was I surprised. I paid $994 for a standard bedroom back in September. The fare is currently $1526!!! That was quite a savings. :huh: There is no way I would have gone at the latest price. I wonder what it will be in a couple of months if anything is left.
