Another thought on reservations

Has anyone tried booking in the summer (going to Seattle) and then once you are on the train, see about getting a sleeper once you are on it (I was told by one of the conductors this year that they can give you a better deal if a sleeper is available at that time.

I wouldn't even try it is too hard to get on the Builder.

And the family rooms will definately be sold by then. Most likely all the bedrooms will be gone by then too. Might have a slight chance depending on the day of the week, to get a roomette.
