AMTRAK v.s LIRR

If one had to make a choice as to who to work for, what would be the better choice? Amtrak or LIRR?

(assume that amtrak was hiring for the NY-Washington division).

There's a lot to be said for national seniority, and the NEC Division is pretty secure. If Amtrak goes under, someone will keep up the NEC trains in some capacity, so you'll just roll into a new job there.
