Hi,
Looking at Maple Leaf options and fares New York to Toronto, I noticed that the through booking came up at $128. (There is no "senior fare" available cross border...)
However, by booking two tickets, NYP to Buffalo BFX, and then BFX to Toronto, all on the same Maple Leaf train, the total cost is $110.
Even better for seniors, as the over 62 fare is available on the US only portion, taking another $10 off the fare.
There are few cross border trains, but are there other popular examples of splitting tickets like this to save cash?
Ed.
