I'd say the westbound from Chicago to Emeryville (San Francisco) is nicer. The best scenery is around Denver, and you get to see it in the daytime heading west. On the eastbound, it's fairly dark when you reach that area. Just my two cents, though. Any other questions? EDIT: Clarity.

Nice report. I do think they should spruce up the lounge cars, and customize them for each route. The one time I did the Starlight a few years back it was in a sleeper, so naturally I spent pretty much all my time in the PPC. It was nice, but of course it's sad that they're only on that one...
