The only problem is getting CSX to come on board with the trip, especially with a very congested river line. IIRC, Amtrak had a difficult time in getting CSX to allow them to run the Sunday trip because of the highline being under work curfew, and the B&O was going to be congested. I would like...

It would be nice if they were able to put the Great Dome on for a premium price. And it would be even nicer if they could put American View on too. But hey, one can dream!

It's been awfully quiet about this trip, I'm getting the impression that it's not going to happen. However, last year's trip was announced on October 3rd.

Anyone know if there will be an Autumn Express for 2015 after the last two highly successful seasons of it? Hopefully there will be more 'rare mileage' opportunity, but I know their survey hinted at some sort of wine tasting train, santa train, etc.

FYI... Amtrak has bumped the return time for the trip on the 8th from 6pm to 7pm. No other explanation given so far. I kinda wished they were able to do this trip before DST ended, but hey, beggers can't be choosers.

I'm hoping for another 'Rare Mileage' route for their excursion if they do repeat it. The price was right for this one, let's hope another one is in the works! However, I wouldn't be surprised if they did another rare mileage route somewhere else in the country. I know it's selfish to want...

I seem to recall a policy that NS has that doesn't allow the dutch doors to be open except for crew members. They had an incident a number a years ago where there was an injury and that NS put the kibosh on it since then.

I heard a rumor that Amtrak wants to go back to the Phase III paint scheme for all their equipment. I emphasize this is a rumor, and honestly, I don't believe it myself unless I saw confirmations. Is anyone able to confirm or deny?
