I'm looking forward to the second trip out of St Paul. The consist possibilities are very intriguing but I'm hoping for the better connection with other trains. The EB misses connections with all but LSL and CL. A business class service coming out of Chicago makes sense, leaving early...

They cancelled enough trips on the EB to get equipment where it belongs. I'm not sure it will accomplish much before spring weather starts but hopefully it will work out for you. The Coast Starlight though is completely at the mercy of Mother Nature.

I took the 8/28 out of St Paul to Chicago yesterday. It was unusual to have the 7/27 arriving minutes prior to my train. Both sat at the platform for about 15 minutes. The initial 11 hour delay was a freight  train derailed at a frozen switch east of Tomah, WI. The rest was more of the cold and...

Both 7 & 8 are stopped in Wisconsin due to derailment tonight. My 8 is tomorrow... This could be a long day.

Ouch, I was wondering if a Spokane turnaround happened. Keeping my fingers crossed my consist is the #7 westbound going through ND this morning.  I will board when it's the #8 returning. 2 to 3 hours is no problem. That 12 hour plus the other day gets painful.

Looks like the EB is slowly catching up to it's schedule now.  Just looks like a stretch of really bad luck in the last week.

The #8 that left Spokane this is running only about 45 minutes behind now. That service disruption it was flagged for must have been for it's start in Spokane. It is not appearing on the Transitdocs map but is being updated on this page...

Well, the #8 that left Spokane this morning has already gone back into Service Disruption. Considering this is the same consist that had problems on it's westbound trip, I believe there must be an equipment problem instead of infrastructure.
