I was a little surprised to see the Sunset Limited this morning when I went for breakfast at the Hotel Congress in Tucson. Only 8 hours late, heck, I remember one time a couple of years ago when # 1 came through 48 hours late. :rolleyes:

Looks like the Sunset Limited's back to "normal", # 1 departed Tucson 7 hours late this morning. :rolleyes:

We took the Starlight and Empire Builder eariler this month. Rather then risk a misconnection we planned an overnight at Portland. Connecting passengers on the northbound Starlight, which was running about 2 hours late, were advised that they would be bussed from Eugene to connect with with #...

Wasn't the Sunset Limited "on time" once last month, only a couple of days late? :rolleyes:

I was drivin' down to Tucson on I-10 this afternoon, about quarter to two, when I passed the eastbound Sunset Limited parked in a siding. It was scheduled to arrive in Tucson at 8:00 AM :unsure:

Having achieved zero percent on time performance it can't get worse, except, of course, for the average delayed arrival, which I'm told was almost 7 hours at LAX last month. :unsure:

I just stopped by the Tucson station on my way home from work. As of 6:30 PM MST the train hadn't arrived yet, but the inspection crew and fuel truck were there waiting for it. They said that all the passengers left at El Paso.

I don't have a clue as to why it's late, it still hasn't made it to Tucson yet.

You're absolutely correct AMTRAK-P42, I should have written # 1, which, by the way is now: # 2 left Tucson yesterday morning, the same day as scheduled, only 30 minutes late. :o

I just checked to see the status of # 2's 8:17 PM scheduled arrival in Tucson tonight: :blink: :rolleyes: :unsure:

Don't count on finding a parking space at National :

Some of the metrorail stations have parking for commuters at around $3-4 a day, then you could take the metrorail train to Union Station and avoid driving into the city. From the metro transit website:
