#58 collides with a truck in Louisiana

My heart and prayers go out to the victims but still It's amazing how people still think trains can just stop on the dime like that.

    HO AEM7AC Rebuild

Hi guys, I just wanted to share my HO AEM7AC rebuild project with you guys. Its waiting to have the pilots painted and decals applied as well as all of the detail parts like grab irons, window lens, etc. This model will depict the very latest version of Amtraks phase V, three sheets to the...

    Athearn AMD 103 Phase V

There's a few listed on eBay now as a matter of fact. I think 184 and 146, low and high striipe respectively. The prices tend to go pretty high so be prepared to dig deep. Also, since the loco and passenger cars in the train set from Walthers do come in seperate boxes (inside the big box of...

    Walthers Grill Diner

Yeah, I know what you're talking about What I generally do is bend the couplers but before doing that I take washers Kadee #209 and place them in the boxes so that there is little vertical play and if the couplers are still too high/low, then I bend them down/up respectively. That has worked...

    Modeling the lake shore limited

I got to check this forum more frequently but being away from a comp doesn't help much either, lol In answer to the crew dorm-lounge, Walthers makes the model. It's been out for a while and they make it in its current scheme (phase IV) and Amtrak markings. Only deacals that need to be applied...

    Modeling the lake shore limited

You got to also ask yourself what era you want to model. If you decide to do the current LSL, you'll need to search long and hard for Athearn/Walthers AMD-103s in phase V. List price was about 70/80 dollars as there were two runs, the second cost a bit more. As for the 10-6 sleepers, I think...

    Bachmann Amfleets Available Now

Bachmann has made N scale Amfleets for a while now. I don't think anyone else has. The N scale versions by bachmann looked just like the HO scale versions. The paint was just more glossy on the N scale versions if I remember correctly.

    Bachmann Amfleets Available Now

I agree. But we have to remember that two different divisions were in charge of two different models. Spectrum has shown in the recent years (At least with Amtrak equipment) great care in getting things right. This is part of the reason why the HHP-8 is being delayed. Silver Series obviously...

    Corridor clippers

I saw one of those on the rear of my train (train 95) back in October (the 9th I believe). I saw it running with its pantograph up when we were crawling throug CP216 at New Rochelle. They cut it off at Washington D.C.

    Bachmann Amfleets Available Now

................and even that they got wrong because that had way too many bubbles on there and located in the wrong place (the smaller ones anyway). One can take 90% Isopropyl alchohol and a Q-tip and lightly rub off the car markings ("Coachclass") and make a decal saying "Businessclass"...

    Bachmann Amfleets Available Now

Hey guys, I saw the new Amfleets from Bachmann in on of my Hobby Shops last week. They corrected the window spacing but there are allot of issues with the model. The font is too big. They did an ok job on the Acela Regional Cafe car but the Acela Regional Coach has some major issues with the...

My kitbashed phase IVb Amfleet I

You're correct! Thanks Guys! The decals were custom made as I did not have white ink for all the markings including the three sheets logo. To get the correct shade of blue I used Badgers Model Railroad paint and the base color I used was D&H Blue. I added dabs of Penn Central Green and CSX...

My kitbashed phase IVb Amfleet I

Hi guys, I just wanted to share my latest modeling project. I painted six Amfleet I's in phase IVb, one of which is a food service car. I'd love to hear your feedback! http://www.geocities.com/ksax73/RSPhotos/RS151.JPG http://www.geocities.com/ksax73/RSPhotos/RS143.JPG

    Bachmann's HHP-8 Photos

Well the "Bach-Man" still says that December is the release date. He seems pretty confident about that date too. Lets keep our fingers crossed!

    Athearns Amd-103 Phase V

I have 6 of the 7 AMD-103s that were produced by Athearn/Walthers. They all run great. The older runs (146, 182, 184) run allot smoother with a digitrax DH123AT decoder too. Enginees 134, 204, and 207 don't need the decoder to run smoothly. These are definately nice models!
