Panhandlers in and around Union Station have much more polished cons than those I've encountered elsewhere. Maybe the proximity of Hollywood is a factor.

Scammers and panhandlers are not the harmless annoyances that many claim. They're like graffiti. If not removed, graffiti breeds more graffiti — and creates a perception of danger.

I'll be taking #8 from Seattle to Chicago next week and am allowing ample time for anticipated delays. Question: Why do most of the delays occur on eastbound Builders?

This is an excellent point. I always bring a standard straight-on extension cord just in case. I also bring a three- to two-prong adapter just in case, as well. Never had to use it, though.
