If I check baggage in Toledo going to Salt Lake City will the bags be changed in Chicago when I change trains? Is the baggage handling overall pretty good and prompt so that when I reach Salt Lake City I can rest assured my bags will be there. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have never...
I know this has been asked before but it seems to change. Wife and I are riding round trip from Chi to SLC the last week of April. We are hoping the sleepers are on the rear of the train to avoid some engine noise. Thanks for the help.
Hopefully I will be able to track it and not leave my hotel in the middle of the night and then have to sit several hours in a cramped station. I understand that sometimes trains are late, but would like someway to not show up so early that I sit for hours.
I am catching the #6 in SLC going to Chi. When looking at the stats it has only been on time once in 30 days and has been very late the bulk of the time. We are leaving on April 27. Is this the normal state of affairs for the route and should we just plan on being in the station for awhile?
My wife and I are going on the Lake Shore Lmt from Toledo to Chicago. We the will take the California Zephyr to Salt Lake City. We both have slight mobility issues and could use help with baggage and boarding. How do we make sure and get someone to help with that while waiting in the lounge...
We have two carry on size bags on wheels that we plan to bring. One we plan to take to the room and the other we will put on the luggage shelf in the train. Thank you all for the very useful information.
The Capitol Limited leaves DC at 4PM. We will be checking out of our hotel in the morning. Where can we leave bags at the station so we can do some wandering and what is the cost? Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere,
My wife and I are travelling from Toledo to Washington DC next week, We know we will have breakfast on board. The train arrives in DC at 1:00PM. Will we have lunch? If the train is late will they then feed us? I am also confused whether or not there is a dining car or something else for...
My wife and I have tickets travelling from Washington DC to Toledo on Saturday November 5. The train arrives in Toledo at 5:08 AM Sunday.. Daylight saving time ends during the night meaning the clocks go back one hour. 5:08 AM is the normal arrival time for this train on a daily basis. Why...
My wife and I have two trips booked and have taken care to book them far enough in advance to get two roomettes across from one another. I can say that any attempt to change that will be met with a pretty strong disagreement. Do rooms booked and paid for like this get changed often?
