Professionally: Systems Analyst/Policy Analyst who has been examining the intersection of petroleum imports, environmental issues, employment, economic development, and infrastructure. Surprisingly, finding that as part of a broader program, strategic investment in freight and passenger(intercity and urban) rail can reduce oil imports by 15 to 20 percent, reduce both NOx and COx pollution by 10 percent, put significantly more than 3 million high quality jobs permanently into the economy, and actually reduce the long term cost of petroleum.
