    Most trains are fueled by Ordinairy Home heating oil at intermediate points. At big service area's the Railroads do use Regular Diesel fuel but Tax free variant.

    They actualy had pair of P40's that towed the 3 dead sets. and since they went tru Penn station late at night nobody noticed the run around in Penn station and the fact that diesel only was used. without HEP the P40 just sounds like a low idleling freeight hog anyway.

    I just send a email to that editor as rhey are wrong. the Dash8-40BHW's are P40's not the P8-32BHW's Leo king says they are. I got the Amtrak advertisement in front of me. it is the Genesis 1's their selling.

    The P32 would need to be in lead at all times, as a P42 has no controls to control the P32 in Electric or to switch modes.

    since the news just broke on WB11 the four engines two in secaucas and two in Harmon were used tonight as escape pods incase the president had to get away from it all. they are currently sitting near Penn station.

    Allan its only Amtrak policy to not run Diesel in Penn Station. there is no law prohibiting use of Diesels in both Penn Station or GCT. there use to be a law but: Law on engines in city.

    Two Amtrak Genesis are sitting ideling at Harmon shop(mncr) for two days now. also two Genesis were reported sitting near the secaucus transfer in New Jersey. Are these maybe same units or protect power for convention.
