Finally...after years of planning, and years of SNAFUS...the new Troy Transit Center serving Troy and Birmingham, Michigan will open, and Wolverine passengers will no longer need to use the bus shelter that's been the "station" since the 1931-vintage Grand Trunk depot next to it closed.
Here's a link to the story in today's Detroit News:

Anyone planning a points run up that way? The Troy Transit Center is about a mile east of downtown Birmingham & its shops, restaurants, boutiques, etc.
BTW, as a kid, my family used to travel from Birmingham to South Bend and back on the GT to visit my maternal grandmother, who taught school in South Bend. She traveled on it when she visited us for Christmas/New Year's, Easter, and the "holiday" that came with the end of school in June!
