Was just on the City of New Orleans twice in the last couple of weeks and the sleeping car was at the very end and we had to walk through several coach cars and the observation car to get to the dining car. What is up with that bit of insanity?

I hope they leave the sleeper on the rear! Would be nice to have the SSL and Diner in the middle, but will take it as it is, the farther away from the horn the better!

The answer is here: http://discuss.amtraktrains.com/index.php?/topic/32610-line-numbersconsist-listings/page__st__20 The TE and the CONO share the same consists. The TE has the sleeper in the rear so that it, and the coach in front of it, are more easily coupled/uncoupled at SAS and attached/unattached to #1 & #2.
