I'm learning 3D modeling to make addons for Trainz Railroad simulator. And while I have a couple projects for Trainz underway, their all fairly complicated. I thought something like the 'Standard Station' Amtrak uses would be a fairly easy thing to model, to get my feet wet. The only problem is I don't have an accurate information about the stations; things like dimensions, etc. I know there is a book out called the "Amtrak Standard Stations Program" which has the pertinent information on it, but since this is a learn-on-my-own type of project I don't want to shell out the $35/hr it costs to FOIA it.
So does anyone here know where I might be able to either get my hands on the book for less or would be able to help me locate a few of the plans for some of the stations from that style? I'm particularly interested in modeling the 50C station type.
