AGR points for roomette, can I upgrade to bedroom?

So I only have enough points to redeem for a roomette from Omaha to a Glenwood Springs. I was wondering if there is a possibility to upgrade from the roomette to a bedroom by paying the difference in what would be the current bucket prices?

Has anyone ever upgraded from an AGR redemption to another class of service?

You can upgrade, but the upgrade is based on the amount you actually paid (in cash). Since your cash outlay is/was $-0-, the "upgrade charge" would be the full cost of the bedroom! In other words - you would have wasted the 20,000 points for nothing!
