Unless you count the SUNSET LIMITED derailment that I was involved with in Oct 1995... Dont tell me the media blew that story out of proportion !!! I was nearly killed that morning in Hyder Arizona... TRAINS ARE N O T THAT SAFE folks....since the millions of miles of tracks are NOT...

I wouldnt ride on Amtrak again if you paid me millions of $$$$$ !!! NOT after nearly losing my life in the derailment of 1995 on THE SUNSET LIMITED......HYDER ARIZONA I would rather walk !!!

Hello, forum members : I am a survivor of the Sunset Limited Derailment , in Hyder, Arizona( 1995). I was the individual that found the first copy of "THE SONS OF THE GUSTAPO" manuscript. I also was the last person to talk with Sleeping car attendant Mitchell Bates, 41, a 20-year Amtrak...
