Man I feel old, but there was a reason back in the day when the Silver trains ran 18 car consists that they would split in half at Jacksonville and some siding in Auburndale and half the trains would run to Tampa.

Never understood why the Silver Meteor was considered the premier train of the two. The Silver Star goes to bigger population centers.
So there is a rumor over on Trainorders of the Capital Limited going single level and the Silver Star stopping at Washington DC instead of NYC. The Cap would use the Silver Star's equipment and the Superliners would love back west. Or possibly combined into one train?

Weird, last night 22 was three locomotives and 8 cars long leaving Texas, but today in STL, over 4 hours late, it left with 5 cars and two locomotives.
