Take a taxi or walk to the Tower Theater. See two movies and eat at the on-site restaurant which is really good. There is also a cinema in the downtown shopping center close to the station, but movies there tend to end by 9:00p. Forget about Old Sacramento at night (or during the day) unless...

. San Luis Mission and creekside park across the street, thriving galleries, cafés, shops. A couple of decent small museums. Great Farmers Market from 5-9p every Thursday. People in SLO are very, very friendly and helpful.
