Looking at the data on Juckins.net for arrivals of train 280 on Sunday for the last 4 months the average delay is 6 minutes. The worst for the last 4 months is 52 minutes. That and one of 27 min were the only significant delays.
One of only two that are currently flyable left. This would be cool to see. I will be in the Lehigh Valley that weekend but Unfortunately tied up with my move.

I seem to recall that some of the later broadcasts of this episode on PBS had some sort of disclaimer to the effect of "Amtrak is much better now than what is shown on this video".
My son and daughter in law got caught up in this driving back to RI from PA, taking some back roads and trying to make a U turn got stuck in a ditch. Fortunately some passing Good Samaritans helped push them out.
The Merritt and Wilbur Cross Parkways are already congested even without this...
It may be that people can see the advantages of a highway in something they can use so are willing to allow that but perhaps less likely to see the advantages of HSR since there are essentially no examples of one in this country yet.
Last night I was watching a YouTube of the BBC "Great Railway Journeys of the World" episode "Coast to Coast". In it the presenter travels on what was then the Westbound San Francisco Zephyr, before it was rerouted onto the D&RGW. At the Denver stop they were washing the windows with some kind...

The LSL already swaps locos at ALB as the Diesels to/from the West end up on the Boston section and the NYP section gets a dual mode. Not sure about the other trains that go past ALB.
It's a shame that service to Yarmouth does not run anymore especially since the CAT ferry from Bar Harbor now terminates there, with no good non-car alternatives to travel from Yarmouth .
I recall another transfer point was Truro where one transferred to the train to Sydney in Cape Breton...
If you mean for all traffic between NYP and BOS I don't think the empire connection would have the capacity to handle all that traffic in addition to the existing Empire Service. Plus you have the issue that the connection is not electrified the whole way with AC catenary so that would have to...
Sounds like another reason for Platform Edge Doors at least on subway stations. Would be tough though to have them at NYP given the varied types of rolling stock with different door spacing that uses it
