Well, this is a new one on me... I called in to add my wife's brand-spanking-new AGR number to our reservation for late June (now that we're within the 90 day bonus "referral" window), and asked to have a new E-ticket and e-mail sent confirming the addition. I'd used AMSNAG the other day but noticed no fare improvement, but just wanted to add the AGR number.
Got the new info, and here the fare for our 2 roomettes bumped from second lowest to lowest bucket on one leg, resulting in a decent sized refund (few hundred bucks).
1) I'm surprised they would just go ahead and re-book like that, with the reduced fare. What if the fare had gone up?
2) The agent never mentioned a refund or credit... I wish she had; not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I would have asked to get an e-voucher rather than paying the refund fee!
Anyone else stumble into a situation like this?
