Keep an eye on the website for a track work advisory that impacts The Carolinian, the Palmetto and the Silver Star.

Roughly speaking, the Carolinian is cancelled between NYP-RGH and operates RGH-CLT MON-THU and operates normally FRI-SUN.

The southbound Palmetto departs NYP on its normal schedule but holds at RVR for an hour MON-THU.

The northbound Star operates MIA-NYP 4 hours later SUN-WED and is running as 1092. It will also service WLN. It operates normally the rest of the week.

All other trains may face delays through the area.

Those are the basics.

The Carolinian is operating from RGH-CLT, so is only cancelled as far south as RGH.

Here's an article about it. Obviously there will be main track work going on, but I find it unusual that the disruptions go on for so long. Typically, when a new track is connected to the main, it only takes a couple of days to cut in a new switch. There must be something unusual about this project.

They are also changing 90,000 ties in the area which will result in congestion and routes being blocked.
