What's there to do in Schenectady all day?

Trying to decide if an Ethan Allen with a several hour layover or the Adirondack with a three hour wait is the better option.

The SDY station is 1 block from the main street and downtown. Directly across the street from the station is/was (a few years ago) a Burger King. Just for comparison, ALB is not in Albany but actually across the Hudson River in Rensselaer. There is nothing nearby.

Take the Adirondack, there's no reason to hang out in Schenectady and the Adirondack is a nice ride Northbound, especially in the leaf peeper season when Ocean View is in the consist!

Schenectady has a new casino along the riverfront.  I'm not a gambler, but I have stayed in the hotel that is attached to the casino.  The biggest disappointment with the casino was the food.  It left a lot to be desired.

That casino was built on the site of the old ALCO (of steam locomotives fame) plant.
