Just saw a post by a friend over on Train Orders Passenger Board regarding CS detours over the weekend of September 7 - 9.

Indeed, trying "test" bookings LAX to SBA and return #14 shows "sold out"; LAX to SAC shows the usual options.

Pacific Surfliner trains show various Thruway Bus/Pacific Surfliner combinations for the same routing.

Being somewhat familiar with the Metrolink Ventura Line to Chatsworth, I know several new signals have been "waiting" to be cut in; mostly around Van Nuys.

Might be an opportunity to travel the Tehachapi Loop!

I don't have info beyond what I presented here.

If I wasn’t committed to riding the Canadian a week after that I would be booking a ticket. Have fun on the detour guys.

Yeah, I’ll be on the Texas Eagle the 7th and 8th. We’ll be riding the Coast Starlight later but our trips aren’t until the 21st and 22nd and they are kind of coast route dependent since we're getting off in SLO and SBA.

I did it last year, and the transcontinental trip to do it was "well worth it"...;)
