I am looking at NFL to ALB and return the same day for a double points run. The scheduled times give me about 6 hours layover. Do you think there is a good chance of making this?

If you're not making the trip in the dead of summer or the dead of winter, 6 hours should cover it unless equipment trouble develops.

OK, thanks, probably next week. I know something major can always come up.

    Whatever siding I'm sitting on!
6 hours should be fine. If your inbound train is running very late for some reason, you could always get off in SDY. (Just ask the ticket agent in SDY to change your return res from ALB to NFL to be SDY to NFL instead.)
