Story here.

At least 20 people were injured, five seriously, when a landslide derailed the train, authorities said. The train was a small diesel train with two carriages, traveling on the Val Venosta line. The railway is one of the region's newest, inaugurated in 2005.

In fact the railway (named Vinschgerbahn) was reopened by the local administration of South Tirol (Südtirol), after the italian railways had closed it somewhen in the nineties. The valley is mainly german speaking, it's german name is Vinschgau.

There are about 11 dead and 28 injured.

Trains were diesel propelled and bult by STADLER a swiss company.
